The Law Enforcement Academy of the Republic of Uzbekistan held an introductory meeting with J. Widon, the newly appointed representative of the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) in Uzbekistan.

During the meeting, the guest was provided with information about the Academy’s main areas of activity, organizational structure, as well as the system for training, retraining and professional development of employees of prosecution and investigative bodies.

The parties reviewed the results of projects implemented jointly. Within the framework of future plans, they discussed the implementation of joint projects and the establishment of training programmes aimed at developing the professional knowledge and skills of law enforcement officers.

The EDIROL initiative aimed at transforming the Academy into a hub for enhancing the capacity of law enforcement agencies was also considered.

At the end of the meeting, the parties identified specific tasks on the issues discussed and agreed on the next steps for their implementation.
