Professional training – the foundation of service in prosecutorial authorities

Training sessions are being conducted at the Academy as part of a professional retraining course in the form of initial specialisation for employees newly recruited to prosecutorial authorities. The course aims to develop the necessary professional knowledge, skills and competencies, familiarise trainees with the specific features of prosecutorial activities, and integrate theoretical training with practical experience.

A total of 74 employees are participating in the course. Of the 576-hour programme, 160 hours were conducted at the Academy in an in-person format, with participants released from their official duties.

The programme covers the legal framework governing the activities of prosecutorial authorities, prosecutorial supervision, combating crime and preventing offences, criminal procedural activities, protecting citizens’ rights and freedoms, as well as the exercise of prosecutorial powers in courts.

Practical training includes analysing service-related situations, examining case studies, group discussions and completing assignments. Trainees also strengthen their practical skills in preparing procedural and other official documents.

Academy instructors, experienced employees of prosecutorial authorities and relevant subject-matter specialists are involved in the training. Throughout the course, particular attention is paid to compliance with the law, the protection of human rights and freedoms, the prevention of offences, and adherence to professional ethics. The programme’s practical focus enables trainees to consolidate their knowledge and prepare to fulfil their official duties within prosecutorial authorities.
