The history of the prosecutor’s office: remembrance and service traditions

Trainees attending a professional retraining course for personnel newly recruited to the prosecution service visited the Museum of the History of the Prosecutor’s Office of Uzbekistan to learn about the development of the profession and its service traditions.

The museum exhibition consists of seven thematic sections and 36 main display panels. It houses nearly 5,000 archival documents, more than 7,000 photo and video materials, and approximately 2,000 historically significant exhibits. The displays highlight the formation and development of prosecution bodies and their work to uphold the rule of law and establish justice.

The trainees learned about the historical stages in the development of statehood and the legal system within the territory of our country, from their earliest formation to the present-day prosecution system. Separate displays provide information about our compatriots who were unjustly punished, executed or exiled during the political repressions, including personnel from the judicial and prosecutorial systems. The section entitled “The Activities of the Prosecutor’s Office of New Uzbekistan” presents the reforms implemented in recent years and the institutional renewal of the system.

The visit enabled the trainees to learn about the historical experience and service traditions of the prosecution service and to gain a deeper understanding of their professional responsibility in upholding the rule of law.
