Financial risks and compliance: specialists from banks complete professional development training at the Academy

The Law Enforcement Academy, in cooperation with the Department for Combating Economic Crimes and the Central Bank, conducted two-day specialised professional development courses for bank employees. The training sessions focused on combating money laundering and the financing of terrorism, financial monitoring, and improving anti-corruption compliance systems.

Employees of Infinbank JSC, Garant Bank JSC, and Poytaxt Bank JSC participated in the courses. Faculty members of the Academy and specialists from the Central Bank and the Department conducted training sessions on FATF international standards, financial risk assessment, customer due diligence, and compliance with sanctions restrictions. In addition, theoretical knowledge of identifying suspicious transactions and establishing internal control systems was reinforced through practical examples.

A. Irmanov, a representative of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, conducted a practical session on “Certain Issues in Establishing Anti-Corruption Compliance Based on the Provisions of the United Nations Convention against Corruption”.

The sessions also addressed pressing issues encountered in banking practice, mechanisms for preventing them, reducing corruption risks, and applying international experience in national practice.

The knowledge and practical approaches acquired during the courses are intended to be applied to assessing financial risks, identifying suspicious transactions, and improving internal control mechanisms in banks. In this way, the training will contribute to ensuring transparency in the financial system and strengthening the rule of law.
